Chicco Bravino Plus Review: A From-Birth Stroller for Under 00?
Short answer: The Chicco Bravino Plus is worth it if you want a light everyday stroller that works from birth for under $300. Chicco lists it at $279.99 and 22.2 lb. The seat reclines fully for a carriage mode, KeyFit car seats click in, and it folds with one hand. It is not small enough for an overhead bin.

The Bravino Plus packs a lot into a 20 in wide, 22.2 lb frame. A newborn can lie back in Pramette mode, the toddler seat reclines to four positions, and a Chicco KeyFit seat clicks in for car-to-stroller trips. It folds with one hand to 16 x 20 x 28.3 in and stands up. Mommyhood101 praised its solid build and smooth ride. The trade-offs: the seat faces forward only, the rear brakes are separate, and Chicco publishes no basket limit.
Who is the Chicco Bravino Plus for?
The Chicco Bravino Plus is for parents who want a light, everyday stroller that still works from day one. Chicco lists it at $279.99, or $229.99 for the plain Bravino, which has a 3-position recline and no carriage mode. At 22.2 lb and 20 in wide, it sits between a compact and a full-size stroller. A newborn rides in Pramette mode or in a Chicco KeyFit infant car seat, and the toddler seat later carries a child to 50 lb. That makes it a good fit for a first baby, small cars, narrow homes and theme park days. It is not a travel stroller for overhead bins, and the seat only faces forward. Families who want a parent-facing seat may prefer the Graco Modes Pramette.
How does the Bravino Plus ride and steer?
Chicco lists treaded tires on the Bravino Plus, with 6.3 in front swivel wheels, 8 in rear wheels and all-wheel suspension. Those wheels are mid-sized, so it suits sidewalks, shops and park paths better than grass or gravel. Mommyhood101 found it handled smoothly with no squeaks or rattles, and said the suspension softened sidewalk cracks. The handlebar is fixed at 42.5 in by their measurement, and they found it comfortable for a 5 ft 5 in mom and a 6 ft 3 in dad. At 20 in wide, it fits through narrow store aisles and doorways. Mommyhood101 notes the rear brakes are two separate foot pedals rather than one linked bar, so you press each side to park.

How big is the Bravino Plus when folded?
Chicco lists the Bravino Plus at 22.2 lb. Babylist lists 21 lb, and Mommyhood101 weighed it at 22.18 lb with the insert. It folds with one hand, stands on its own, and has a built-in carry handle. Chicco gives the folded size as 16 x 20 x 28.3 in. Mommyhood101 found it fit the trunks of a BMW X5, a Subaru Impreza and a Honda Civic. There is no automatic latch, so a strap holds it closed. Chicco lists it as theme park compliant, under 52 x 31 in. Mommyhood101 is clear that it will not fit in an airplane overhead bin, so plan to gate-check it.
Is the Bravino Plus comfortable and safe?
The Chicco Bravino Plus seat works in two ways. In Pramette mode, Chicco says the seat reclines fully for a lie-flat carriage, and a fabric shield pulls up around the baby's feet. Mommyhood101 measured the lowest recline at about 10 degrees above flat and says the mode is not meant for overnight sleep. As a toddler seat, it has four recline positions, a two-position leg rest and an 18 in seat back by Mommyhood101's measure, with a 50 lb limit. The UPF 50+ canopy rotates and has front and back visors. Chicco lists Baby Safety Alliance verification and fabrics made without intentionally added fire retardant chemicals, PFAS, BPA or phthalates.
How much storage does the Bravino Plus have?
Chicco calls the Bravino Plus basket large, with front and rear access and organizer pockets, but does not publish a weight limit. Mommyhood101 describes the basket as spacious for a stroller this size. On top, the parent tray has two cup holders, and the child tray folds down for a compact fold. A diaper bag and a few shopping bags should fit for everyday errands. Babylist also lists a basket fob among the storage features on its product page.

How does Pramette mode work on the Bravino Plus?
Pramette mode is what separates the Chicco Bravino Plus from the plain Bravino and many strollers at this price. Instead of buying a bassinet, you recline the seat fully and pull up a fabric shield around the lower seat to make an enclosed carriage. Mommyhood101 says setup takes a couple of minutes, that the canopy rotates forward to cover the space, and that it pairs well with this mode. They also note it is not waterproof and not meant for overnight sleep. When your baby is older, the seat returns to an upright toddler seat with four recline positions. If you prefer a car seat setup, a Chicco KeyFit seat clicks in with the included adapter. Chicco did not publish an age or weight cut-off for Pramette mode in the pages we opened.
