UPPAbaby Minu V2 Review: Buy a Used Minu V2 or a New Minu V3?

Short answer: The UPPAbaby Minu V2 is worth it used or on clearance, not at full price. UPPAbaby replaced it with the Minu V3, which lies flat from birth and folds smaller for $499.99. The V2 weighs 16.9 lb, holds a child to 50 lb and has a 20 lb basket. Check recalls, the fold and which adapters come with it.

The Minu V2 is still a good small stroller if the price is right. It weighs 16.9 lb, folds with one hand, stands on its own and carries a child up to 50 lb. BabyGearLab praised its stiff frame and 20 lb basket. The catch is newborns: the seat starts at 3 months unless you add the From Birth Kit. The Minu V3 lies flat from birth for $499.99 new, so pay well under that for a V2.

Who is the UPPAbaby Minu V2 for?

The UPPAbaby Minu V2 is for parents who want a premium compact stroller and are happy to buy it secondhand or as leftover stock. UPPAbaby has replaced it with the Minu V3, and Nordstrom lists the V2 as no longer available. UPPAbaby's own V2 page listed it at $399.99 in its last months on sale, down from the $449 to $550 reviewers quoted in 2024. The V2 weighs 16.9 lb and holds a child up to 50 lb, so one stroller can last from about 3 months into the preschool years. It suits city parents, small car trunks and families who want a second, lighter stroller. It is less suited to newborns, because the seat needs the From Birth Kit before 3 months. If you want a flat seat from birth and a warranty, look at the Minu V3. If you find a clean V2 well under $499.99, it is good value.

How does the Minu V2 ride and steer?

The UPPAbaby Minu V2 has spring suspension on all four wheels and a one-tap brake pedal, per Nordstrom's listing. BabyGearLab gave it a maneuverability score of 8.7 out of 10 and said its stiff, responsive frame helps it pop up over curbs and thresholds. The reviewers noted that its hard wheels suit flat surfaces best, though it still managed grass and gravel reasonably well. At 20.3 in wide, it slips through shop aisles and narrow doorways more easily than a full-size stroller. It is not built for trails or jogging. BabyGearLab gave its quality 9 out of 10 and named the rigid frame as a strength. When buying used, push it in a straight line to check it tracks true, test the brake, and look for wobbling or worn wheels.

How big is the Minu V2 when folded?

The UPPAbaby Minu V2 has a true weight of 16.9 lb, per UPPAbaby, and Nordstrom gives the same; BabyGearLab weighed it at 17 lb. It folds with one hand in one step, stands on its own and has a carry strap. UPPAbaby gives the folded size as 12.5 x 20.3 x 23 in with the bumper bar on. Nordstrom lists 11.5 x 20.3 x 23 in, and BabyGearLab measured about 12.5 x 20.5 x 23 in. BabyGearLab found the fold easy but noted a manual fold lock, and said it is not as packable as some rival travel strollers. The Minu V3 is smaller, at 10 x 18 x 21.5 in by UPPAbaby's figures, and UPPAbaby says the V3 fits overhead bins. A V2 should still fit most car trunks with room to spare.

Is the Minu V2 comfortable and safe?

The UPPAbaby Minu V2 seat suits children from 3 months to 50 lb, per Nordstrom's listing. It has a multi-position recline; BabyGearLab says lowering it takes one hand and raising it takes two. Lucie's List notes the seat faces forward only. The canopy zips out to extend and has UPF 50+ fabric and a vented peekaboo window. For a newborn, UPPAbaby sold a From Birth Kit separately, which Lucie's List priced at $129, or you can click in an infant car seat with adapters. BabyGearLab rated kid comfort 8.5 out of 10. When buying used, check the harness, buckle and seat fabric for wear.

How much storage does the Minu V2 have?

BabyGearLab lists the UPPAbaby Minu V2 basket at a 20 lb limit, one of the highest in its lightweight stroller group. The reviewers fit a large diaper bag inside and said it is easy to reach from the back. The Minu V3 keeps the same 20 lb limit. There is no cup holder in the box, which BabyGearLab listed as a drawback, so look for one in a used listing.

Should you buy a Minu V2 used or the new Minu V3?

Start with what changed. UPPAbaby lists the Minu V3 at $499.99, down from $549.99 in September 2025. By UPPAbaby's specs, the V3 is suitable from birth with a flat recline, while the V2 seat starts at 3 months unless you add the From Birth Kit. The V3 weighs 16.7 lb against 16.9 lb, folds to 10 x 18 x 21.5 in against 12.5 x 20.3 x 23 in, has a three-position leg rest and lists a 40 in height limit. UPPAbaby also says the V3 fits overhead bins. Parts are not shared: Babylist says the V2 car seat adapters do not fit the V3. A used V2 makes sense for a baby past 3 months at a clearly lower price. Before you pay, check recalls on cpsc.gov, test the fold and brake, and make sure any adapters you need come with it.

Is a used Minu V2 worth buying?

It can be, if the price is clearly below a new Minu V3 at $499.99. The V2 weighs 16.9 lb, folds with one hand and has a 20 lb basket. Check the fold, brake, wheels and harness, look up recalls on cpsc.gov, and ask which adapters and add-ons are included.
